Our Home & Playground
About Yacht Club Cagliari
We are based in Cagliari at Marina Piccola, right next to the 9km long Poetto beach, 5km from the city centre and 20 mins from the Airport. Cagliari is one of the hubs of Italian sailing with its warm climate and consistent winds. Our club is home to a number of Olympic sailors, who come to train here all year round, and the Luna Rossa America’s Cup team is also based in Cagliari.
Clinic Programme
First assessment
Self assessment and sailing assessment for skill, technical ability and mental fitness. Used to program athletes goals. We will ask you to fill out a self assessment form in advance of the clinic in order to best programme the activities to you.
Calendar of Training
In advance of the clinic, we will ask you to send us a calendar of your training on and off the water and we will help you to tweak it to personalise it to you.
On the Water
- A session includes warm-up, core and cool down.
- The core is where the key aspect of the session takes place (learning or consolidation) and should only include one drill so as to ensure maximum concentration for learning.
- All other aspects are about consolidation of previous learnings.
- On the water sessions include briefing and debriefing and video analyses.
Off the Water
- Depending on the needs of the group we will conduct theory sessions.
- The correlation between physical fitness and sailing sessions is highly important. We will help you to find the right exercises for all aspects of your sailing.
- A balanced diet helps you to get the most out of your machine (body). You will learn about nutrition and eat great food with us.
- We teach you how to use KPI’s and you can use our template.
